B & D: autumn family portraits
I've been casually taking photos of my family for so long, so when I went into pro-mode for my parents' "just take our picture" portraits for their Christmas card, they didn't know what to expect. But they laughed through my directions and posing, especially when it came time for the "engagement" shots. They might have felt awkward but the smiles are real and there's nothing I like more than photos of people actually laughing; that's when people look most themselves and most real.
